WHO THE PROGRAM ADDRESSES
The open call is addressed to composers, sound artists, performers, instrument makers, developers, designers, and researchers interested in examining the philosophical grounds and consequences of music technology. Relevant practices may be acoustic, electronic, electroacoustic, digital, computational, performative, networked, installation-based, research-led, or situated across multiple media and disciplines. This range is indicative rather than exhaustive.
Projects may begin from a composition, performance, instrument, interface, software environment, dataset, archive, recording process, repair practice, theoretical problem, institutional question, or broader artistic-research trajectory. Participants should be prepared to present work in progress, discuss technical choices in accessible terms, engage closely with the work of others, revise their positions in response to dialogue, and contribute to a collective research environment.
The programme does not require participants to arrive with a complete philosophy of music technology or with advanced expertise in every technical domain their project touches. Its purpose is to establish conditions under which philosophical positions can be articulated, tested, differentiated, and developed through practice. Intellectual curiosity, critical openness, practical reflection, and commitment to sustained exchange are therefore as important as the current state of any individual project.
